Polished and thin section preparation

A fully mounted laboratory is available to do the polished and thin sections for all in house requirements.

• Polarising & Reflected Light Microscopy
  
• Binocular Microscope
  
• A PANalytical X-R-D (X-Ray Diffraction)
  
• SEM/EDS (Scanning Electron Microscope & Energy Dispersive Spectronic) This chemically analyses and identifies minerals non destructively, as individual points or by x-rays maps
  

Safeguards

To ensure the most consistently accurate results we take a series of precautions that include:

• Ultrasonically washing Endecott screens every 2 hours. 
  
• Direct database data-entry balances to minimise errors.
• Calibration of balances using standard weights.
  
• Inclusion of standard and repeat samples in all projects.
  
• Regular training and assessment of staff.
